Gene Seed
Eugene Rene Seed, age 90, passed away peacefully Dec.13th 2023, due to complications from Covid. Gene was born to Loretta and William Seed on June 17th, 1933, in Ottawa, the third of four boys.
Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Margaret Rose; his children, Teresa, Leonard (Lenore), Sonya, Norman (Cindy), Corie and Anthony; 12 grandchildren, Virginia, Damen, Adam, Jason, Keith, Brian, Jeremy, Kyle, Laila, Maya, Aiden and Ryleigh; along with three great grandchildren, Mason, Tyler and Zoe. Gene is also survived by his older brother Gerry and many nieces and nephews.
After a multitude of careers, he started his own successful company, Gene Seed Pipe and Fittings Ltd, which was later bought by Emco Ltd.
Gene loved sports but his favorites were bowling, curling, and golf. One of Gene’s first jobs was to set up the bowling pins at his dad’s bowling alley where he perfected his bowling skills. He was also an avid curler, curling for the left-handed senior men’s team. Golf was the third sport he enjoyed.
Gene touched many lives in 90 years and will be greatly missed.
A special thank you goes out to the PSWs and nurses who visited him during his illness, especially Lynn, and the staff at the Kemptville Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, 503 Clothier Street West, Kemptville on Monday December 18, 2023 at 11 am immediately followed by a reception at Holy Cross Church Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kemptville Hospital Foundation in support of a CT scanner.
