David Scott Paveley
January 28, 1953 – May 28, 2024
Passed peacefully with family by his side, at the Extendicare West End Villa on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in his 72nd year, after a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind his siblings Christopher (Heather), Richard (Lynn) and Catherine (Doug), and his cousin Donald Brett. He was the loving (and fun) uncle of Angela (Stacy), Matthew, Ellen, and Jessica. Dave was predeceased by his parents Herbert Grahame Paveley and Edith Ellen Scott.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, the second of four children, Dave moved with his family to Kemptville in 1968, where he attended high school and made many lifelong friends. A jack of all trades over the years, while living in Ottawa and Arnprior, he tried his hand at a variety of things including owning and operating a snow plow and a backhoe. Dave was an avid reader and pursued many hobbies, he enjoyed cars and motorcycles, but his real passion was getting out on the Rideau River in his boat. Fishing was just an excuse to be on the water where it was peaceful, calming, and carefree.
Although faced with many challenges Dave cared about his family and friends. He kept his quirky sense of humour, through his pain and suffering, right to the end.
There will be no visitation or service. Dave’s ashes will be lovingly sprinkled in the Rideau River by his family so that he can forever be Gone Fishing.
