William John Bartlett
William John Bartlett, aged 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Kemptville District Hospital on May 29th,2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
William was born on September 6th, 1933, in Kimberly, South Africa, where he grew up and met his wife. He moved to Oxford Mills, Canada in the year 1968 and began his career teaching at Oxford on Rideau Public School. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. He did so much for so many people as a parent, teacher, coach, and community leader. He had a passion for photography and many of his students remember his makeshift darkroom amongst the school’s hallways.
But more than anything, Wiliam was a devoted father. His family meant everything to him. He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favourite TV shows. He always offered guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter their challenges. His role as a father was the most important to him.
In his free time, if William wasn’t at the hockey rink, the soccer field or at the BMX track, he could be found watching his beloved Maple Leafs and Cowboys!!!
William is survived by his loving wife Audrey Bartlett, his two children, Donald (Diane Bartlett), Keith (Robyn Bartlett), and his grandchildren, Justin, Jalen (Jamie Bartlett) Tatiana, Hailey, Micheal and great-grandchildren, Erik and Dina.
All who knew him will cherish his memory and all the stories he told.
