The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Donald G. Pirie, on July 2, 2024, at the age of 78 peacefully at home. Born on March 27, 1946 the son of the late Gerald and Helen Pirie. Beloved husband of Suedean (nee Smith) of 52 years and loving father of Tara Hunter (Garvin Hunter) and Tanya (Paul Russell), and devoted Grandpa to John and Laura.
Don is survived by his sisters Elizabeth, Anne (predeased by Eldon), and Sheila (Jim) as well as by his nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was pleased to run the third generation family farm where he developed his all things farming. He was proud to be raised in the Banner area and cherished his friends, neighbours, and family. He enjoyed his travels to Barbados almost as much and his visits with Tommy and the neighbours.
A dedicated farmer, Don extended his family to include the many who helped lend a hand around the farm, including Bruce, Tim and Bob. He was always ready with a humble helping hand, a story, a smile, or a quick-witted joke. He lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J Sondhi for his help and care and the St. Elizabeth nursing staff and Home and Community Care.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll or a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will take place at a later time.
