Alexander Cordell “Chuck” Martin
June 29, 1936 – December 26, 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alexander Cordell Martin, age 87. He passed as he had lived, peacefully and gracefully, with his loving wife Patricia Lee Martin by his side. He was born in Grandview, Prince Edward Island to the late Blanche and Alexander Martin. The younger of two children and brother to Martin Ramsay “Ray” Martin (deceased 2016) and uncle to Todd Martin. He will be fondly remembered by extended family and great nephews and nieces.
He started his career with the airlines in Newfoundland and, then, using his prodigious math skills, joined the federal government in Toronto as an auditor. This led to a management position with Revenue Canada where he met the love of his life, Pat. One of his peers gave him the name “Chuck” and he was known as “Chuck” thereafter. His opinion was well respected and sought after by all those with whom he worked. He had a smile that always lit up the room and he was a kind and gentle soul that will be sorely missed and forever in our thoughts.
