Jan Uffels, of Hanover, passed away suddenly at Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was 84.
Born in Sint Jansklooster, the Netherlands on January 29, 1940 to the late Jan and Jacobje (nee Bergkamp) Uffels. Jan owned and operated a Dutch Store in Toronto for many years and enjoyed all that his Dutch heritage had to offer. He was able to visit his family and home village there just a few short months ago. Jan also embraced all that his new home, Canada, offered, especially the nature and birds.

Fondly remembered by his siblings Gonnie, Willem (Riet), Rika (Herman), Eefje (Martien), Gre (Arie), Joop (Marry), Janny (Bert) and Tina. Jan will be missed dearly by his special nieces that were always by his side; Janet (Ben) and their family Kirsten (Jeroen), Carola (Vincent), Yanina (Ruben) as well as Brigitte (Richard) and their daughter Demi. Treasured by many friends and extended family in Holland. Predeceased by his beloved wife and soulmate Maria.
