In Loving Memory of Simone Dempsey (née Corriveau) 93 years who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 24, at Health Sciences North. Beloved spouse of Melvin Dempsey predeceased. Loving mother of Allan Dempsey (Debbie), Neil Dempsey predeceased, Michael Dempsey and Janet McLean predeceased. Simone is the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by sisters Laura, Teresa, Laurette, May, Rena, Alva, Bertha, Irene, Merilda and brothers Ronnie and Simon. Cherished Grandmother to Ken, Adam, Matthew, Ryan, Joanna, Stefan, and Joel. Great Grandmother to Aurora and Grayson. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. She graduated from teachers college in Chapeau, Qc. In 1951. She began teaching in 1953 and taught until her retirement in 1993.Simone was a caring teacher and was very proud of her profession. After retiring Simone focused on her family always making sure Christmas, birthdays and accomplishments by her family were recognized and celebrated. Her love of family was unconditional. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready to get together with family and friends for a good time. We love you Mom/Nanny and thank you for all the years of your love and dedication to your family.

Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/ Capreol Chapel. 460 Michelle Drive, Hanmer (friends may call 2:00pm – 5:00pm; 7:00pm-9:00pm Sunday).
Funeral Mass in St. Kevin’s Church, Val Therese. Monday, Jan 29th, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment in the family plot at Valley East Cemetery.
