In loving memory of Elizabeth (Liz) De-Val Solomon who passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury, Ontario on January 4th, 2024.
Beloved wife to John Leonard Solomon (pre-deceased). Loving mother of Richard (Krista) of Hanmer and Scott (Julie) of Killarney. Cherished grandmother to Lennox, Shyanne, Jonah, Myra and Sierra (Tyler) and great grandmother to Calla and Collins.
Dear daughter of Myra (nee De-Val) and Reginald Martin both predeceased. Dear sister of Tom predeceased (Margaret), Henry (Olive) and Mary (Tony) all from England. Sadly missed by many nephews, nieces and friends.
Born in England, Liz attended boarding school as a child while her parents were working in South Africa. She spent her early adult life traveling the world before settling in Canada. She then came to Killarney in the mid 1960’s where she met the love of her life, Johnny and soon after started a family. She worked 30+ years at the Killarney Mountain Lodge working different jobs where she retired in 2014. She really enjoyed watching curling in the winter and baseball in the summer. She also loved jigsaw puzzles.
As per Liz’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Killarney Health Centre.
The Solomon family would like to give special thanks to the Doctors, Specialists, Nurses and PSW’s who cared for Liz from Bayshore Home Health, Dr. Procenza’s office, Heart Failure Clinic, Dr. Ratner’s office and from the Acute and Reactivation Care Centre at HSN Sudbury.
