Bev (also known as Red) was a hard-working man that worked in the mines and also as a foreman in road construction. He was a very proud provider for his family and worked right into his last days before leaving for early retirement to care and be with his loving wife Michelle. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, he was full of wisdom and straight to the point. When he wasn’t watching Family Feud, checking on the weather or watching the news he found great joy in getting out to watch his great grandson Bentley play hockey.
Bev had a green thumb like no other with a yard that stood out above the rest. His garden was his pride and joy that fed family and friends for years and years and will continue to do so. He always looked forward to feeding his friends and family the first pot of stew made with vegetables from his garden, that came with a side of his famous homemade bread.
He leaves behind his legacy and love of a good card game that brought so many people together and gut laughing memories to hold close. When he played a good card, everyone would know by the card being slammed down on the table which made the game so much more fun.
He will be dearly missed, but he is now in a better place where his heart and soul is at rest along side his wife and son.
Beverly will be laid to rest at the Valley East Cemetery.
Friends and family are welcome to join us at Cousin Vinny’s Restaurant in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre, located in the private room to celebrate and remember the truly memorable life of Bev on Sunday August 18th from 1-3pm.
