It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear husband, father, and nonno Luigi Pavoni on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the age of 89. He was comforted and surrounded by his immediate and extended family when his soul was called home to rest.
Beloved husband of Pacetta (Polidori) for 64 wonderful, memorable years. Loving and devoted father of Loreta Baird (Stephen) and Carla Passaretti (Marco), who will all miss his presence in their lives. Most proud nonno of his four grandsons Justin Baird (Maria), Alexander Baird, Adam Passaretti and Lucas Passaretti, who all adored their nonno. He will be reunited with his loving parents Giuseppe and Grazia (Antonini) Pavoni and in-laws Antonio and Pasqualina (Curzi) Polidori.
Beloved brother of the late Secondo (Anna) Pavoni, and the late Serafino (Iolanda) Pavoni. Brother-in-law of the late Pietro (Adina) Polidori, the late Maria (Mario) Zippilli, and the late Palmarino (Ada) Polidori all of Italy.
He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, in Canada, USA and Italy. Most devoted and loving uncle of Leo Pavoni, Grace Biancucci, Anna Marie Sears and Silvanna Yakymyshyn.
Luigi was born in Sant’ Egidio Alla Vibrata Teramo, Abruzzo Italy. He immigrated to Canada with his new bride in December 1959 for the opportunity to build a better life for his family. He was a dedicated employee of Industrial Shop Boxes for 31 Years. Luigi was a perfectionist. He took great pride and excelled in his craft of design, measurement, and fabrication.
Luigi loved nothing more than spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He loved unconditionally, had a kind spirit, and was a very generous man. Anyone visiting his home never left hungry. He spent his retirement years hunting, making wine and prosciutto, playing cards at the club and watching soccer. He will be missed by his furry friends Slash and Rupert.
Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – 947 Rymal Road East Hamilton on Thursday, December 7th at 2:00 pm – 4:00pm and from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm. Vigil Prayers to be held at 3:45pm on Thursday at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 620 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Friday, December 8 at 10:00 am. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery 681 Mud St East, Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
