Born June 16, 1931
After a very long journey, surrounded by family and aided by the most loving community at St.Peter’s Birch Terrace, Inez took her final steps in the wee hours of April 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louisa Williamson and John Gibson; her siblings, Dennis and Hilda. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert Caillet (1982) the father of her children, and the late Norm Robins (2007) her faithful companion through thick and thin. Survived by her daughters, Denys (Howard) and Dawn (Henry). Cherished grandmother of Nikki, Shawn, Danielle (Daryl), and Sarah (Steve); and Beloved ‘GG’ of Rowan, Simon, Felix and Hazel. She will be missed by her brother-in-law, travel companion and friend, Ted Ford; and her long-time best friend, Jane
Welby. She was treasured by Emily and Alessia, her dedicated recreation team over this past year. She will also be remembered by her nieces, Danna and Karen; the Robins family; her cousins in England, and many others. Inez had a whirlwind life laying down roots in Hamilton, Antwerp, Montreal and Victoria. She was a longtime parishioner and choir member at St. Michael’s and volunteered many hours for the Mission to Seamen. She loved shopping, travelling, and meeting people wherever she went. She dabbled in many arts but her garden was her Love and she spent as much time as possible planting and guiding it for all to enjoy
along Upper Gage. Family and friends will be received at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, 1188 Fennell Avenue, Hamilton on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am. A reception will follow in the parish hall with an internment to take place at Woodland Cemetery at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, their wonderful Recreation program, or St. Michael’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
