It is with great sadness that the family of Giacomo Frisina announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loved ones, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 97. Devoted husband to the late Caterina for 65 beautiful years. Beloved father to Angela Pedulla (Jerry) and the late Mimma. Giacomo was the cherished grandfather of Lina (Nelson) and John (Anna) and a proud great-grandfather to Cristiana, Julian, Gianluca, Matteo, and Marco. Born in Santa Cristina D’Aspromonte, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Giacomo was predeceased by his loving parents, Arcangelo and Angela (Raccosta), and his in-laws, Giacomo and Domenica Luppino. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Giuseppe (Rosa), Concetta Barbaro (Francesco), Filippo (Franca), and Domenica, and is survived by his dear brother Pasquale (Rosa). Giacomo was a much-loved brother-in-law to the late Vincenzo Luppino (Maria), the late Maria and Giovanni Ferraro, the late Antonio and Concetta Luppino, Rocco Luppino and the late Helen, Natale Luppino and the late Concetta, Carmela and the late Domenico Rugolo, Grazia and the late Paolo Violi, Domenico and Rosetta Luppino, and Giovanni and Rosa Luppino. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Villa Italia Retirement Home, Juravinski Health Care, and St. Peter’s Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
In Giacomo’s memory, donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will take place at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel (43 Barton St. E) on Friday September 13, 2024 from 9-11am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11 am. Entombment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.
