Bishop, Frederick Albert
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frederick Albert Bishop on July 14, 2024 at the Hamilton General Hospital. He peacefully slipped away after a brief illness to rejoin his parents and siblings. Fred was born in Hamilton on July 4, 1933 to Vera (nee Yarrington) and Asal Bishop. Brother to Joyce, Betty, Audrey, Bob, and Don. He will be truly missed by his loving wife and sweetheart Ruth (nee Swan) of 70 years. They were married May 1st, 1954 at Calvary United Church. His legacy lives on through his children, Gary(Kathleen), Glenn(Joan), Stephen(Debbie), Lorraine(Darren) and his 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Fred was a proud member of IBEW Local #105 for 70 years. Long-time member of UCT #604 and Binbrook United Church. He was a gifted singer and shared his talents with the church choir, several barbershop groups, and quartets. He was well loved and respected by many. His great sense of humour will be long remembered. We would like to thank the amazing staff of 4W for their care and compassion during his hospital stay. Relatives and friends will be received at Binbrook United Church, 2617 Binbrook Rd. on Thursday July 18, 2024 from 10am-12pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 12pm. Interment to follow at Binbrook United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Binbrook United Church would be appreciated by the family.
