It is with profound sadness that the family of Elisabeth Ernst announces her passing, peacefully in her 89th year, on June 20th, 2024, in Hamilton, Ontario. Elisabeth is survived by her loving brother Erwin (Rosemarie), her children Bill (Donna) and Fred, her grandchildren Thomas (Agnes), Jeffrey, and Lisa (Neal), and her great-grandchildren Abigail and Maria. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law Maria, her niece Stella (Ken), and her nephew Brian (Shelly). Elisabeth will be reunited with her beloved husband of 64 years, Adolf and her parents, Otto and Aurelia. At the tender age of 10, Elisabeth, along with her mother and brother, were taken from their home and resettled. With resilience and strength Elisabeth trained to become a seamstress, a skill she carried throughout her life. In 1957, Elisabeth emigrated to Canada to marry and build a new life. Together, with her husband she embraced a traditional lifestyle where she cared for their home and children with all of her heart and love. Elisabeth’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A visitation will be held at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St E, Hamilton, Ontario, on Friday, June 28th, from 9:30AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Please feel free to share condolences and any fond memories or stories of Elisabeth in the online guest book. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Elisabeth’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
