With heavy hearts, we announce Don’s passing on April 8, 2024, with his cherished wife, Joanne, by his side. He leaves behind his legacy of kindness, that we must all carry forward. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Joanne, his adoring children Ashley, Olivia, Amy, Jason and Christina; beloved siblings Evelyn, Brian, and Charlie. His many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren are also filled with emotion at the devastating loss of our family’s Leader. Predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Freda, brothers Al and Harold, and son, Gerald.
Don worked most of his life at Stelco. He was also very involved with and devoted to the East Hamilton Optimist Club, and his Church family at Church On The Rock. His ethics remain unmatched. Without doubt, he’s impacted each of our lives beyond measure.
Family and friends will be received at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue, (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Saturday April 13th from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church On The Rock – Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers and support from so many.
