James, Robert Dekker born Friday, August 15, 1980 passed away passed away suddenly at home Saturday, March 2, 2024.
James was the youngest child of Robert and Gladys and born in Kirkland Lake. James is survived by his sister Venus, as well as niece Megan Rose, and nephew Nathan Quinn. He was predeceased by his Dekker and Hamilton grandparents, as well as his uncles Dennis ,Ken ,Greg, Ralph and Claude as well as cousins Darcy and baby Dennis. James will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and by everyone that knew and loved him.
Even in the beginning, James was a fighter. From his early arrival to his last day on earth. James has always had a way with expressing his thoughts and ideas with people, in a video or a picture. You always knew that James was doing what he loved to do. Many people probably have encountered him in their travels. James has never shied away from stopping to have a in-depth conversation or capture a picture with someone or even a laugh.
He will be remembered and missed for his amazing choice in fashion whether from Tommy Callahan to Captain Canada, where he and his father even made the news down in North Bay. From his crew from ETWA wrestling, James has had many nicknames and personas such as Jameser, Diamond “Dekker” Page to the Patriot. James always wanted the Dekker household to be a safe place for his friends and everybody’s children that wrestled with them in the backyard in Englehart. That crew of guys and girls sure knew how to bring the house down from performing at the high school soccer halftime show and at the Holy Family school to just to name a few besides the Dekker backyard. Although ETWA never got signed, the guys and girls and James “Jameser” were very proud that their videos were distributed at Scott’s video in Englehart and Mike Walton Video in New Liskeard. ETWA was one of James’s biggest passions besides his niece and nephew.
The Dekker family want to express, their deepest gratitude, and love to aunt Dorothy who has been by their side through everything. Always without hesitation coming to their house to be with them as they tried to save James.
Rest easy son, baby brother, cousin, and friend
Till we meet again.
