With profound sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Mr Gordon Love at the age of 85 years. Mr Love passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday March 1, 2024 with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Parkhill, ON on July 30, 1937 to the late Isabel Patterson and to the late Frederick Love. Gordon was a man with a big heart always giving and putting the needs of other before his own. As such, he was a director of Hockey Ministries at Butler Lake and Attawapiskat hockey camps for many years, he was a church elder for the Presbyterian Church and the Bethel Gospel Chapel in New Liskeard. In his younger years Gordon was a member of the New Liskeard volunteer fire department, he was a hockey referee, he was on council for the New Liskeard Recreation Committee and a member of Crimestopers for many years. After his retirement from TPC, Gordon and Shirley moved to Huntsville and started Love Your Agent selling saunas and enjoyed time volunteering for Wycliffe Bible camp in Orlando Florida. Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His presence will sorely be missed.
Gordon is survived by his loving and devoted wife Shirley Love (nee Bieman), their children Pama-Lynn and her husband David Duval and Grant and his wife Cathy Love. Gordon is the cherished grandfather of Graham (Sarah) Love, Courtney Giroux, Zach (Carolina) Read, Lexie (Rick) Borg, Hunter Duval, Sawyer Duval and Zoey Duval. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren Katie, James, Charleigh, Kolton, Nate; his siblings Lyle (Isabelle) Love, Jean (Ed) Weiler, many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Gordon is predeceased by his daughter Patti-Su Read and by his siblings John Love and Louise Seim.
Gordon’s final care has been entrusted to Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences and memories can be left at www.buffamleveille.com
