Donald Glenn Percy Loach was born on March 28th, 1939, in New Liskeard, Ontario. He passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2024, at Kirkland Extendicare, surrounded by his loving family. Glenn was predeceased by his beloved wife, Delma (Hearn) Loach, his eldest son, Curtis Loach, and grandson, Robbie. He is survived by his children, Cindy Loach, Colin Loach, Janet Loach, as well as his daughter-in-law Dawn Loach. In addition, his grandchildren Tim Loach (Leah), Nicole Loach (Matt), Shelby Loach, Jennifer Breault, Nadine Evans (Nathan), David Breault (Amy), Ashley Gauvreau (Jason), Courtney Loach, Ben Loach, Cody Loach (Brittney), Tanner Loach (Emilie), Jaxson Loach, Tyler Loach (Jade) and Tonya Loach and his 14 great grand children.
Glenn was a hardworking man whose love for his horses (especially draft horses), farm, and family was always a priority. He owned and operated “Loach’s Rad” from the mid 1970’s to 1992 when his son Colin Loach took over the business. In his later years, Glenn worked on the grader on ice roads in Attawapiskat after becoming the oldest graduate of the 5th Wheel Training Institute. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to various fall fairs across the province, with Glenn serving as the director on the fall fair board for many years. Despite his age, Glenn continued to enjoy skating every year until he was 83.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Extendicare Kirkland Lake community for their care and support over the past year. Donald Glenn Percy Loach will be remembered fondly for his dedication to his family, his work, and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury.
Glenn’s family welcome you to join them for a celebration of life on March 16th at the Harley Hall from 1:00 to 4:00.
