Darren Landry, aged 57, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 21, 1966, in Matachewan, Darren’s life was a testament to his deep connection with nature and his devotion to his family.
Darren is survived by his loving wife Donna Landry, Sons and Daughter; Joshua Landry, Stephanie Pullen (Dan Stefanich) Trevor Pullen Grandchildren; Bryden and Hayley, along with Mother Vina Landry of Matachewan First Nation. Darren was predeceased by his father Leo Landry, brother Darrell Hendrix. Survived by his siblings: Jean (Jack) Lemieux, Elenore Hendrix (Claude Brisson), Dale Hendrix (Guylaine Plourde), Cynthia Hendrix, Leo Landry (Robert Findley), Sandra Roy (late Chris Burkholder), Deana Landry (Bill Simpson), Darcy Landry, and Elaine (Mike) Daley. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his godchild.
Darren found his joy outdoors. He was an avid hunter and trapper, spending countless hours in the woods cherishing the beauty of nature. His skills as a hunter were matched only by his respect for wildlife and the land he called home.
Professionally, Darren worked in the forestry industry, known for his work ethic. He approached every job with the same determination and attention to detail that he brought to his outdoor pursuits.
Darren’s legacy of hard work, love for the outdoors and devotion to his family will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Cremation has taken place, and Darren will be laid to rest alongside his late wife Francine at the Matachewan Cemetery at a later date.
