Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Cécile Léveillé (née Gagnon) passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 (age of 91 years) at the Temiskaming District Hospital,
Cécile is the beloved mother of Lise (John) Leith, André (Sharon) Léveillé, Diane (Steve) McCarthy, Raymond (Geraldine) Léveillé, and Paul Léveillé (Shantell McMahon) and leaves behind her siblings Berthe Gagnon, Rita Levesque,Jacqueline Daviault, Madeleine Lauzon and Denys Gagnon.
She is the treasured grandmother of seven grandchildren: Eric, Jordan, Mark, Jennifer, Derek, Jessica and Nicholas and cherished great-grandmother to eleven: Devin, Lexi, Levi, Henley, Hailey, Izak, the late Oliver, Haylee, Emilyn, Jiah and Ara. Cécile was predeceased by her husband Rosaire ,great-grandson Oliver McCarthy and her siblings Rolland Gagnon, Robert Gagnon, Thérèse Lauzon, Noëlla Gagnon and Rosaire Gagnon.
She was a proud member of the Cercle des Fermières and will be missed by the Club de l’Age d’Or of Haileybury.
Friends will be received at Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Haileybury Location (483 Broadway Street) on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Croix Catholic Church, Haileybury on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. , followed by a reception in the church basement.
The family wishes to thank Drs. M. Morency and J. Corbin as well as the personnel of the hospital for the kind care provided.
