On Nov 21, 2023, we lost the Matriarch of our family. Wanda May Corbett passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington with family by her side, as she started her journey to be with her husband once again.
Wanda was married to the late Everett John Corbett for 63 years. Together, they launched Wanda’s Beauty Salon and started a family that continues to grow today.
Wanda will be forever missed by her son Shawn (Nancy) Corbett of Georgetown, and daughters Maureen Corbett of Midland, Kelly (Machiel) Bakker of Merrickville and Crystal (Andy) Shepherd of Burlington. Gramma C will be missed by Matt (Nicole) and Alison Corbett. Momma will be missed by Sydney Muhammad (Abdallah) and greeted at the gates by Jacob Bakker. Wanner will be missed by Brendan (Angela) and Trevor Shepherd, Carter, Liam and Madelynn Baker. Wanda’s newest role as GG (Great Grandmother) to Lily and April Corbett and to Zayne and Theodore Muhammad brought her great joy in the last four years. Wanda will also be missed by her unofficially adopted children, Dana and Steven Schultz.
Wanda spent her lifetime surrounded by family, creating a special bond that will continue in her honour.
A service to celebrate Wanda’s life will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Gravenhurst on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. If so desired, donations to Diabetes Canada or Arthritis Society Canada would be greatly appreciated.
