The family of Mary Ellen Fitchett, is very saddened to announce the unexpected death of their dear mother and grandmother, on October 29, 2024, in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Born on July 3, 1962, in Parry Sound, Ontario, Mary touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion throughout her journey.
Mary was a remarkable woman whose passion for life was evident in everything she did. She embraced joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was indulging in a game of bingo, knitting beautiful creations, or riding her scooter around her beloved community. Known for her love of country music, her favorite song was Randy Travis’s heartfelt “Forever and Ever, Amen,” which resonated deeply with her spirit.
Mary is survived by her beloved children, Cindy (Kenny), Amanda (Devin), John, Crystal (Jason), and Elisha (Keith).
She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren:
Cindy’s- late Alex , Drayden (Angel), Tianna, Brhianna, Brandon, Alexandra, and Nicholas; Great grandma to late Roman son of Drayden and Angel;
Amanda’s- Amy, late Mitchell, Haley, Ashanti, Devon, Gabrielle, Melvin;
Crystal’s- Myya, Dakota, Jason
Elisha’s- Tyson, Karma, Lucas, Pheonix, soon to be born baby
Her joyous personality and ability to forge strong connections will ensure that Mary is missed dearly by all who knew her.
To honor her life, a visitation will take place at Trinity United Church in Gravenhurst, on November 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Reception to follow at Cavill – Turner Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Mary Ellen Fitchett’s legacy of love and dedication to her family and friends will remain in our hearts forever. She will be tremendously missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
