Edward Adrien McIntyre passed away at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on August 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that touched the lives of many. Born on August 13, 1955, in Bracebridge, Edward dedicated over 30 years of his life to his business as a milk and dairy products distributor. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication were evident in the lasting impact he made in his field.
Known for his happy-go-lucky nature and his unwavering generosity, Edward was a true giver who always extended a helping hand to those in need. A heartwarming testament to his kindness was his thoughtful gestures towards the children in Cuba, where he would bring bicycles and gifts to brighten their lives. Notably, Edward sponsored a young Cuban man to come to Canada, who went on to achieve success as a businessman, a reflection of Edward’s mentorship and support beyond borders. Even in his passing, Edward continued to give back, as his organs were donated to benefit four individuals through seven successful organ transplants.
A sports enthusiast at heart, Edward found joy in activities like hockey and golf, with a deep passion for the Montreal Canadiens. Fishing was another pastime that brought him solace and relaxation amidst his bustling life. Yet, amidst all his hobbies and interests, Edward’s family always remained his top priority. His love for his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
In his personal life, Edward was a devoted husband to Diane (Woolhouse) McIntyre and a loving father to his sons Marty (Mary) McIntyre and Jeff (Elissa) McIntyre. He also embraced his role as a stepfather to Jonathan Woolhouse (Jennifer), forming strong bonds with his extended family. Edward’s caring nature extended to Miseal, whom he held dear as a special “son.” His grandchildren, Tyler McIntyre (Kayla), MacKenzie McIntyre, Alexandra McIntyre, Madison Woolhouse, Owen Woolhouse (Jenna), were the apple of his eye, and he took great pride in watching them grow and thrive.
Edward Adrien McIntyre’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he has touched and the enduring values of kindness and generosity he imparted to all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, his willingness to help others, and his unwavering love for his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
