Jacoba “Coby” Van Bendegem Obituary
Peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital on Sunday, January 14, 2024, Jacoba ‘Coby’ Van Bendegem at the age of 91, went to be with her heavenly family. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late John Van Bendegem (2014). Loving mother of Calvin (Rita) of Oakville, late Elaine (Rene) Mast of Bracebridge, Paul (Joyce) of Regina, Urb (Chris) of Owen Sound and John (Paula) of Halifax. Cherished Oma to five grandchildren Chris (Elodie) Mast, Sharon (Ryan) Brown, Cheryl (Wayne) Scali, Brad Van Bendegem and Kurt Van Bendegem. Coby was a Great Oma to four great grandchildren Hazel, Woody and Solomon Scali and Hudson Brown. Remembered by her family and their children Koos (predeceased) and Cor Emmerzaal, Adriana and Louwe Kramer (both predeceased) and Miep and Klaas van Dyk (both predeceased) in Canada, Netherlands and Egypt.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at the Georgetown Hospital over the past six months. We really could not have had a better health care team of professionals looking after Mom.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service to remember Coby’s life will be held at Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 11611 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1 p.m., followed by a luncheon and time for fellowship. Private family interment at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Georgetown or Acton Christian Reformed Church or Timothy Christian School in Owen Sound are appreciated.
