John Smallegange of Mallorytown, Ontario, died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was 81 years of age, and had been a kidney dialysis patient for seven years.
Beloved husband of Lori Joanne Kelly for 26 years . Dear brother of Lourina (Grant Guild), Jannie Grendel (Sjoerd, deceased), Maria deWitt (Barend, deceased) Cornelia Niedergesaess (Karl) and Adriana Leyenaar (Stuart). John was predeceased by his parents, Mattheus and Susanna Smallegange
Predeceased by siblings Wietske (Fetze Venema, surviving) Wiepke and Fred Jonker, Sjoerd and Marie Smallegange and Susanna (Feike Grendel, surviving). Special uncle to many nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
John leaves behind his brother-in-law Dennis Kelly (Claudia) of Halifax, NS, predeceased by brothers-in-law Harry Kelly (Sandra surviving) of Nepean, and Eric Kelly (Adele surviving) of Gatineau, Québec.
John was a long-time resident of the Mallorytown area, well-known to many.
A thank you to John’s PSW’s especially Alyssa, Nurse Margo, and the staff at the Brockville Dialysis unit, smile program, and other programs from CPHC. A memorial service will be held in the Mallorytown United Church on Saturday August 10 at 11am.
