It is with heavy heart we announce the loss of our dearest Jack, who passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side, on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 89. Jack was born on Sunday, July 14, 1935, to William and Euna Magee (Aggett) in Toronto, Ontario. Loving husband of Brenda Magee (Vince), whom he is now reunited with after her passing in January 2024. Cherished father to Amanda Magee (John Carbone), Erin Magee (Nicole Albino) and Dave Thomas (Theresa). Fun-loving and proud grandfather to Jaxon, Matteo, Goldie, Violet, Ryan, Jeff, Nicole and Zach. Brother to Shirley (Izon) and Sheala (Aggett) and the late William, Ellen (Montgomery) and Aubrey. Jack will be reunited with his nephews, Gord Montgomery and Mark Brierley. A loved great-grampa, brother-in-law and uncle to many dear nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Jack’s caregivers at Extendicare Burloak. The love, kindness and care you provided to Jack allowed him to live a full and vibrant life.
Jack may be gone from this world; however, he lives on through the humour, stories and memories he has left with all those he touched during his lifetime. Referred to in his final days as ‘The Legend,’ Jack brought joy to many with his incomparable humour and infectious laugh.
As per Jack’s wishes, and those of his family, a private cremation will be taking place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Society or if you would consider donating blood to your local blood bank, it would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
