Obituary of Wayne Fredrick Walker
Wayne Frederick Walker passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday April 7, 2024, at the age of 88.
We take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved wife Mareta Walker (1998) of 38 years. He is predeceased by his parents John and Colleen Walker, his in-laws, Ken and Lou Gillatly and long-time friend Joyce Cookson.
Loving father to Julie, the late Sandra (1964) and Paul (Tammy). Proud Grandad to Dustin (Shaina), Clint (Kassie), Claire and Cole. He was a great Grandad to 5 amazing great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Glenn (Bette), their children Mike (2020) and Dan, and Janice (Bill) Peckitt, their children Justin and LeeAnn.
Everyone that came to know Wayne loved him. He touched so many with his positivity and caring approach to people and life in general. He married his high school sweetheart Mareta and ran George Coultis & Sons Sawmill business for 25 years, before retiring at age 49. He was endlessly proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them at his cottage or cheering them on at countless sporting events.
