Peacefully, at the Woodlands of Sunset, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 98.
Beloved daughter of the late James (1981) and Emily (1970). Also predeceased by brother Fred (2015) and sister Jean Lewthwaite (2008), as well as a niece, Margaret (2022). Survived by niece Elaine Cuffe (late Robert), nephew Jim Chalcraft (Wendy Hammond), great-niece Karen Nero (Peter), and great-niece Karen Nero (Peter), and great-nephew, Jaime Cuffe.
Helen was born in Port Robinson, Ontario on July 14, 1925. After graduating from Welland High, she worked in various offices in Niagara and Toronto. She spent 30 years working in the office at Thompson Products before retiring in 1988. Helen’s passions were playing golf and travelling with friends. After every holiday, she wrote a detailed and often humorous journal of the trip. She accumulated quite a collection of these, which will be treasured by her family.
Helen spent the last five years residing at Woodlands of Sunset. The family extends their sincere thanks to all the staff for their kind and considerate care of Helen.
As per Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. In Helen’s memory, please extend a kind gesture to a friend or stranger.
