Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 26, 2024, at 82 years of age. Devoted husband and best friend of Margaret (nee France) with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage. Son of the late Benjamin and Adelina (nee Gagnon) Meloche. Loving father of Ernest Meloche (Kim), Robert Meloche (Louise), Tammy Meloche (Paul), and Shelley Meloche. Treasured Pepe of Joel, Jeffrey (Gillian), Brooke, Taylor, Tanner, Benjamin, Grace (Hector) and Averie. Great-Pepe of Ezra. Dear brother of Maxine Ledingham (Jim), Rosalina Smith (Carl), Antoinette Koelln (Tim), Agnes-Marie D’Andrea (Tony), Jerome “Nifty” Meloche (Kathy), Denise Meloche-Renaud (Rick) and the late Aggie Renaud. Brother-in-law of Helen Rivait (late Fred), Marie Pegg (late James), late Gertrude Zavitz, late Isabella Smith (late Smitty), late Charlotte Desjardins, Joyce Hamil (late Ross), Donald France (Elaine), late Mary Corchis (late Joe), Carol France, late Linda Stewart (late Peter) and Alan France (Debra). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Noel served many years on the Amherstburg Fire Service Station 2, also serving as the former District Chief. Noel was a longtime and devoted member of St. Clements Parish in McGregor where he was a Eucharistic Minister, and he also sang in the choir. Noel was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus # 2844. He worked in the Auto Industry for 37 years and retired from Chrysler. He was a member of Unifor Local # 444.
Noel truly loved riding his motorcycle and he was a Charter Member Red Knights Ontario Chapter VI Motorcycle Club for 35 years; the Harley Owners Group-Wheatley Chapter; Point Pelee Riders Group Motorcycle Club; Lone Wolf MC. Noel was also known for his Christmas display that so many people enjoyed over the years.
Noel is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North Es on Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. On Saturday, friends and family are invited to gather at St. Clements Parish in McGregor after 10 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Clements Cemetery. Please feel free to bring your bike if you wish to join Noel’s final ride. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor & Es County or the St. Clements Building Fund.
