Leslie “Les” TAFFINDER
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our cherished Les, who departed peacefully at Erie Shores Hospice surrounded by family on August 9, 2024, at the age of 78. Dear wife of Maxine with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage. Son of the late Don and Rita Taffinder. Loving father of Shawn (Sara) and the late Stephen. Stepfather of Steve and Jeff Wilder (Tami). Treasured Pépé of Dakota, Easton, Madeleine, Logan, Kali and Jordan. Great Pépé of Skyler. Brother of Brian (2013), Barry, Donna White (Joe), Duane (Donna), Kevin (1994), Craig (Tina) and Scott (Cathrina). Brother-in-law of Frank (Penny), Marlene (Jeff) and the late Francine. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Les retired from his many years teaching the Electrical Apprenticeship Program at St. Clair College as well as the IBEW. The training centre at IBEW is named after Les. He was an active volunteer in Cystic Fibrosis community; a basketball referee; longtime coach of the Riverside A’s Baseball Organization; an avid golfer and a member of the K of C # 4386. Les was a fun loving, caring husband, father and Pépé. He was kind, supportive and he will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North Es on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
