It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on April 28, 2024, just five weeks before her 100th birthday. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her four children. She was the cherished wife of her late husband John. Treasured mother of Catherine (James), Nicholas, Richard (Frances) and Cynthia (Reno). Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Siobahn), Lindsay (Stephen), Marnie (Roger), Matthew and Isabella. Great-grandmother of Julia, Kingsley, Victoria, Mason, Ethan, Haley, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her parents Baccus and Margaret Simon and her siblings Adam, Moses (Helen), Dorothy (Lorne) and David. She is survived by her loving sister-in-law Mary Simon and many nieces and nephews.
In her early life, Julia worked in her family’s retail business in Es and Harrow. It was during her time in Harrow that she met her late husband, John. They both worked and raised their family in Es. She became a widow at an early age and devoted the later part of her life travelling between Es and Toronto to continue helping her children in whatever way she could. She was a trusted advisor and confidant to her children and grandchildren and left an indelible mark on them and everyone she met. She will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity of spirit, endless love, and fiery red hair.

To the many nurses from Paramed, most notably Seana, Jennifer, Gwen, and Carly, and Lisa Girard from Care Partners, thank you for taking such wonderful care of “Miss Julia”.
Cremation will take place and the arrangements are under the care of Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) in Es. You may send your condolences online at www.kennedyfh.com. A celebration of life will take place in Oakville, Ontario later in the Spring.
