Cascadden, Floyd
April 24, 1924 – October 1, 2024
After 100 years of a life well lived, the family of Floyd Cascadden would like to announce his peaceful passing at the Hospice of Windsor. He will be dearly missed by his dancing partner and beloved wife of 74 years, Virgery Cascadden; his devoted children, John Cascadden, Susan Ottrin (Tibor), Randy Cascadden (Maria) and Judy Langlois (Gil). Cherished grandfather of Shari, Carol, Shelie, John Jr., Rebecca, Natalie, Andrea, Dana, Chris and Nick. Also remembered by his many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ted, Murray, late Lyle and late Joyce.
Floyd’s occupation as a transport driver allowed him to explore most of Ontario. He knew every shortcut possible and didn’t hesitate to tell you. Floyd enjoyed an active life filled with community service. He was most proud of being President and Vice President of the Es Retirees, was heavily involved with the Senior Games and was recipient of citizen of the year for Es.
Floyd monitored the progress of the new Gordie Howe Bridge’s construction and, in his final days, was kindly afforded the opportunity to tour what can be considered the finished product. The family knows he is dancing up above. He will be sadly missed.
Floyd is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North, Es on Friday October 4, 2024, from 10:00a.m. until the time of service to celebrate Floyd’s life at 12:00p.m. Burial will take place afterward at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
