Hi! My name is Cheryl Clancy (nee: Milani). Recently I passed and I would like to tell you my story.
I grew up in Port Arthur, Ontario, one of three children. I had a sister, Marlene and a brother, Don. At the age of 14 our family moved to the rural town of Woodbridge, Ontario where I attended Woodbridge High School. There I met John Clancy and our attraction was immediate. Together we enjoyed the best teenage era ever, “the 60’s”. We married in our early 20’s and raised two children, Tim and Kristi. What exceptional adults they became.
I taught for the North York Separate School Board for 33 years before John and I retired to our home on Georgian Bay. What a fantastic place to live with picturesque views of sunsets over the water, thunderstorms rolling by and waves crashing on the beach.
I the summers we traveled throughout North America, golfing and sightseeing until we decided to spend winters on the Gulf shores of Biloxi, Mississippi. There we golfed, toured, dined, gambled and enjoyed Southern hospitality. Life was great!
But then I was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and my life changed dramatically. Complications eventually cased irreparable damage and life was no longer a pleasure.
So now I have passed but I must say that as long as my life went, it was extremely enjoyable and rewarding due to my loving family and all the people who joined in my journey. I thank them all for their love and friendship.
I’m leaving behind my best friend and loving husband John and our two wonderful children, Tim and Kristi. I loved them so very much and I know they loved me dearly.
Family and friends will be invited to a future Celebration of Life for Cheryl. In her memory, hug your family and let them know you love them every day, as Cheryl always did.
