It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Linda Rachel Lalonde at the age of 77 at her home in Dunnville, ON.
Loving and compassionate wife of Leonard Robert Lalonde for 58 years. Caring and supportive mother of Lenny (Stacey) Lalonde, Lynnette (Tim) Booker, Lisa (Al) Mitchell, Chris (Christie) Lalonde, and Craig (Kerrie) Lalonde. Proud Mammy to a small army of grandchildren and great-grandchildren She will affectionately be remembered by her sisters Cathy (Phil) Cartwright and Barbara (Roger) Auger. Cherished aunt and beloved cousin to many. Predeceased by parents William and June Corey; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence (Mary) Corey, and grandson Michael Lalonde.
Her genuine giving nature will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community including the Dunnville Ducks Unlimited Committee for which she was a volunteer for over 25 years. Linda was always willing to share a cup of tea with you in her yard amongst her beloved flowers and was quick to welcome new members to her ever-growing family without hesitation. She found joy in giving to others, further evidenced by her love of finding a good shopping deal to fill her pantry with ongoing donations to Julia’s Care-A-Closet, or to create her famous Christmas gift baskets.
With extreme gratitude, the family would like to acknowledge the courageous and selfless actions of Linda’s caring neighbours. A special thank you to the first responders, Dunnville War Memorial Hospital staff, and Dr. Kamouna.
Visitation will be hosted at J.W. Hart Funeral Home at 113 Lock St. East, Dunnville, on Thursday, May 23rd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral to be held at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church (204 Alder St. W., Dunnville) on Friday, May 24th at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery (122 Robinson Rd., Dunnville). A Celebration of Life reception will be hosted by her immediate family at the Dunnville District Hunters and Anglers Association (237 McLaughlin Road) following the burial.
