With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Helga Rausch in her 84th year. Helga passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital after a brief battle with Pancreatic cancer. Helga was the loving wife of Thomas, her husband just shy of 62 years. She was a beloved mother of Kim-Karin, and Shelley (Jerry), grandmother to Tiffany (Nick), Matthew (Melissa), Chelsea, Thomas (Adrianne), Jordyn, Bethannie (Brian), and Benjamin-Fox (Viktoria), and great-grandmother to Makayla, Alexander, and Lindsey.
Helga and Tom loved spending time at their log cabin on the Muskoka River where Helga spent countless hours fishing, snowmobiling and hosting pig roasts. In their retirement years, they enjoyed the sunshine at their second home in Florida. Helga was amazingly talented when it came to gardening and painting. Helga will always be remembered for her playful nature and her kindness and compassion to animals. She also enjoyed her afternoon card games with the Polaps, even if the boys won. She leaves her family and friends with many memories that will last a lifetime.
Special thank you to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital (Floor 6) for their care and support. Celebration of life will be held at the Germania Club of Hamilton, 863 King Street E, Hamilton, on Saturday November 23, 2024 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. We ask those who attend to wear bright or sparkly attire to honour Helga’s Spirit.
