Obituary of Eldine Bedell
Eldine Bedell, a long time resident of Dresden, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Copper Terrace, Chatham at the age of 90. Born in Oil Springs, the daughter of the late Russell and Beatrice (Ayrheart) Short. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Bedell (1992). Loving Mom of Connie McCarty (Greg), Elwood Bedell (Jackie), Cindy Stokes (Andrew), Melanie Simpson (Joe), Dean Bedell (Sue), Darcy Bedell (Mary Ann) and Tracy Czarnecki (Pat). Sadly missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister of Joyce Stinson and Gerry Caven (Bruce). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Wayne Short and sister Verlane Bresett.
Eldine was the office manager at the Dresden Leader for 20 years. Eldine also served her community in her church, was a Dresden Minor Hockey Mom, Ladies Auxiliary member of the Legion and a busy Mom with an open door policy for friends. She loved all music and dancing, including Sacred dancing.
Eldine would dance Saturday nights in Oil Springs as a teenager and that is where she met Leonard. Eldine loved her family, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. She had a way of making everyone feel unique and special.
A private family service will be held at Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Dresden. If desired, donations may be made by cheque to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 113, Dresden. Online condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com
