With gratitude to God for the blessings in her life, our Mother passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 22, 2024 at the age of 92. She is reunited with Patrick (2014) married for 59 years and with her parents Thomas and Catherine, her adored sister Charlotte and infant brother John Fritz.
Devoted Mother of Thomas (Lori), Jamie (Michele), John (Karen) and Eugene (Debi). Loving Grandmother to Trevor (Julie), Joshua (Megan), Brendan (Jessica), Ryan (Teresa), Jacqueline, Melissa (Daniel), Nathan (Mira), Jeremy, Justin, Christian, Jonathan and Stephen. She was so proud to have welcomed her precious great grandchildren, Avery, Jamieson, Keira, Logan, Ebba, Maddie, Audrey, Maya, Thea, Luka and Joey.
She was honoured to have been a president and long time member of the St. John’s CWL. The Christmas Bazaars were always a favourite and joining the ladies of the craft group were a highlight of her week. She was a patient master of jig saw puzzles and crosswords. She loved painting, knitting and always enjoyed a really good or really bad pun. We will miss her humor, the conversations at the kitchen table and those often repeated stories.
Her love of family and devotion to her Catholic faith guided her in every aspect of her life. Mom prayed the Rosary for all her family each day including her last moments. She always thought of others before herself, she forgave completely and was lovingly grateful especially for help in her later years and for the many friendships that came so easily to her.
In lieu of flowers donations to The St. Vincent DePaul Society or Halton Alive, would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Special thanks to the staff of the Egerton Community for their gentle and compassionate care.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4 to 7pm. Vigil Prayers at 6:30pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 2016 Blairholm Ave., Burlington on Friday, January 3 at 11am.
