Mr. John Abele, formerly of Delhi, passed away peacefully at the Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Wednesday, March 26, 2024 in his 93rd year. John was born in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan on May 12, 1931. John loved the country lifestyle and was a dedicated farmer until he retired at age 65. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and participating in family gatherings. Beloved husband of 69 years to Agnes (Rosastik) Abele. Loving father of Michael Rosastik, Sandra Howard (George) and Brian Abele (Georgia). Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Sandra), Ashley, Johnny, Anthony (Kyra) and Veronica and great grandfather of Gavin and Kara. Dearest brother of Elizabeth Fath (Late Steve, 1991) and brother-in-law, Brian Mawhiney. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in laws. Predeceased by his parents: Barbara (Sudar) Abele (1973) & John Abele Sr. (1974) and by his brother, Joseph Abele (1990) (Late Hazel, 2020) and by his sister, Barbara Mawhiney (2003). A Private Family Memorial Service was held in the Chapel on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Andy Alway officiating. Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery . Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Charity of your choice can be made at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
