Van Grimberghe- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a well fought and courageous battle, Jim Van Grimberghe age 75 years of Courtright passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2024. Beloved husband of Bonnie (Nesbitt) for 47 years. Loving father of Amanda, Chris (Ange) and Justin. Cherished grandfather of Layla, James, Noah, Scarlett and great-grandson Dean. Dear brother of Shirley Van Grimberghe, Alma (late Larry) Smith, Ros (late Ken) Snell and Mark (Maryanne) Van Grimberghe. Much loved son-in-law and brother-in-law to the Nesbitt family. Jim is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, August and Elsie Van Grimberghe and by his sister, Jean. Jim was a proud member of the Insulators Union Local 95. His favourite enjoyments were watching Nascar and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. His family would like to acknowledge all of the staff at Bluewater Health, including Dr. Lilly, Dr. Yoshida and the Cancer Clinic and Palliative Care teams for their continuous care and friendship that they provided to Jim and his family during his illness. Special thanks to Brittany from Bayshore for her love and support. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at the Corunna Legion, 350 Albert St. Corunna on Saturday September 14, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit or to the Bluewater Health Cancer Clinic.
