Yvonne Euphemia Pierrynowski (née Hickey) of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the age of 89 years. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Euphemia (née Gillis) and Alphonsus Hickey. She was physically active and lived independently even in her later years, forging a strong bond with dozens of feathered and furry friends (especially Tweetie, Jay Jay and Sammy), who dined every day on the treats she set out for them in her yard. Yvonne enjoyed lively conversations with neighbours, bus drivers, and the folks at her local bank and in her community whenever she was out and about.
Loving mother of Michael (Mary Ann O’Brien), Robin (Kevin) Taylor, Donna (John) Kewley. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Erin (Mark), Kathryn (Darius), Caroline (Gisaya), Sarah (Evan), Lindsey (Simon), Jennifer (Kevin), Tom (Maddie), Kimberley, Jonathan; six great-grandchildren Braeden, Clara, Lucy, Hélèna, Théodore, and Margaret. Survived by sisters-in-law Anita Pierrynowski, Joan (Terry) McMahon, and Irene Pierrynowski. Predeceased by beloved husband Raymond (Ray) Pierrynowski; sister Catherine Curtis; brothers Peter, Alphonsus, John, Malcolm, William, Murdock; granddaughter Theresa Pierrynowski; brothers-in-law Michael and Eddie.
