Steven Louwes, 56, of Collingwood, Ontario, passed away on August 26, 2024.
Born to Ada Louwes and the late Albert Louwes (1991), Steven was the cherished youngest sibling to Margaret (John), Bill (Jackie), Patricia (Neil), and Joanne (John). Beloved husband of Sherri Lee, and outstanding father to Candise (Michael) and Owen.
Known affectionately by many nicknames including Louwezer Man, Stevie, Dutch Boy, The Louzenator, Prime Ribister and Turbo, Steve was a devoted father, loving husband, and a tgrue friend to all who knew him. He lived his life to bringing joy and laughter into the lives of those around him.
Steve was a dedicated entrepreneur and skilled craftsman whose passion for his work was evident in everything he did. His creativity, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to his trade made a lasting impact on those he worked with. Whether through his work life or his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and of course his beloved rounds of golf, Steve was a man who lived with genuine warmth and boundless energy.
A generous man with a heart as big as his smily, Steve was renowned for his bear hugs, his enthusiastic “yabba dabba” to anything, and his ability to be the calm in any storm. His presence was larger than life, and he made evey place he was feel like home.
Steve leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and an unyielding spirit that will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, with details to follow, where friends and family will gather to honour and remember the remarkable man he was.
