Herrmann, Siegfried “Sigi” passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 40 years by his side on Tuesday March 5, 2024, at Sunset Manor in Collingwood.
Sigi was a devoted husband to Corazon, proud father of Lisa (Ian) Veitch and the late Brian Herrmann.
Sigi owned and operated Bay Refrigeration in Collingwood until his retirement in the early 1980’s. He then accepted a contract with CUSO to work in Papua New Guinea, where he used his skill to install refrigeration and electrical systems in the developing country. He and Cora lived there for 5 years and travelled throughout the Pacific during their time off. Following the death of a family member they moved to Germany for a few years and returned to Canada in 1993 after Sigi had a stroke.
For the last 16 years Sigi was a resident at Sunset Manor where Cora was with him every day. He was the most loving, kind, hardworking and considerate soul. Always giving and helping others. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Plans for a celebration of life are pending. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Barrie Stroke Recovery Program.
