It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Martin Brian Currie on December 17, 2024.
Marty was born in Collingwood on January 20th, 1957, to parents Barbara and Martin Currie Sr.
He will be remembered and forever missed by his loving partner Karen Pattison. He was the devoted father of Chalyne Leheinsworth Currie (Ryan Murray) and Chantelle Currie and the fun loving and beloved grandfather of Ryder, Paige and Cayla. Marty will also be missed by Karen’s son Christopher (Anna). He will be remembered as the caring brother of Eugene Currie (Mary), Terry Buchenthal (Tom), Heather Grantham (Doug), Paula Currie (Wayne Gingerich), Lorraine Trenholm (the late Dave Trenholm), Steven Browne (Lorraine). Also missed by his many nieces and nephews. Marty is predeceased by his parents Barbara and Martin Sr.
Marty had a big heart, and a quirky sense of humor (sometimes inappropriate) and could make friends with anyone. He enjoyed his job and spending time with his coworkers. He always had a smile on his face. His family was always his number one priority, he made sure everyone around him was taken care of.
He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date, details will follow.
From Marty’s Sister:
We are deeply grateful for the time we shared this past summer, when all of the siblings came together with our brother Marty. That time together was truly special, it’s a memory we will cherish forever.
