DeCosta, John Joseph Anthony
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected death of John DeCosta, a beloved son, father, uncle, and friend on Friday November 10, 2023.
John was born in Collingwood on December 29, 1978. He was the much-loved son of Darlene (Paul) Azzopardi and John (Lynn) DeCosta. John will be deeply missed by his sons Taylor and Brenden and their mother Corinna, daughter Sophia and son William and their mother Amanda.
He was a supportive and loving brother to Matthew Curnew and Madina Spencer (Denis Boulay) and cherished uncle of Renee, Monica, Kailub, Gavin, and Joey.
John was predeceased by his grandparents Tony and Maria DeCosta and William and Beverley Andrews.
John loved his family; his children were the light of his life, and he was proud to be their dad. Although his time here was much too short, he left his mark on the world, and he will be missed but never forgotten.
A private service will be held. All are welcome to attend a celebration of life on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Collingwood Leisure Time Club from 2-5 p.m. As an expression of sympathy donations in John’s memory may be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
