James Lloyd Kerswill of Wasaga Beach, passed away on Thursday November 16, 2023, at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital in his 96th year.
Jim is remembered as the devoted husband of 73 years to Lorraine. Loving father of Doug, Valerie, Brian, Keith (Alexandra). Cherished grandfather of Fran (Brian) and Mitchell and great grandfather of James and Mia. He was predeceased by his sisters Betty & Margaret.
Born in King Township on the family farm to parents (William) Lloyd and Ethel Kerswill, Jim was proud of his farming roots.
He had 35-year career with Samuel & Son Steel Company and was a past president and Dean of the Canadian Credit Institute. Jim was a dedicated employee and leader and was well respected by his colleagues. One of his most proud accomplishments was writing his memoirs, a gift his family now treasures. He enjoyed sports and was a true Maple Leafs fan. He loved his family, and they will cherish their memories of him forever.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday November 20, 2023, at Fawcett Funeral Home – Collingwood Chapel with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
