Churchley, James Cyril “Jim”
Died peacefully with family by his side at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2023 after a 15 year battle with cancer, having recently celebrated his 70th birthday.
Jim Churchley, of Collingwood, was the beloved husband of Christine (nee Hewitt) for 50 years. Loving father of Jimmy Jr. (Sylvie), Jason (Michelle), Jeremy (Betty), Josh (Renee) and Crystal. Cherished grandfather of Justin, Brandon, Jeremiah, Alex, Jasmine, Kayla, Ethan, Jordan, Robbie, R.J., Noah, Elijah, Lucas, Alex and Cassandra. Treasured great-grandfather of Parker, Kylie, Aidan, Jace, Langston, Kayden, Weston, Waylan, Michaela, Violet, Nixon, Skylar, Callum, Ellie and Anita. Dear brother of Fran, Ellen, Rose, Sue, Ron, Rick and predeceased by his brothers Paul, Roger and Peter. Back side-by-side with his best friend Pete Mattice, Jim will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Jim spent his life working in the trades. He was hard-working, always willing to try something once or twice in some cases; he was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need but most of all was a family man whose presence at Friday night wrestling will be greatly missed by R.J.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Chatterson Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, for visitation on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cremation will follow. If desired, donations in memory of Jim to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
