Sproule, Claire Hamilton of Barrie, Ontario passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Tuesday May 7, 2024, in his 82nd year. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (nee Vivian) for 58 years and the proud and loving father of Christine (James) Ware, Scott (Katherine) Sproule and Mary-Ann Sproule (Neil Evans). His grandchildren Joshua, Cassandra, Kayla, Hailey, and Taylor will cherish their memories of him as their kind and fun-loving grandpa.
Claire was raised in Collingwood by his parents Claire and Josephine (nee Hamilton) Sproule. He was the dear brother of Patricia (Don) Valley, the late Fred (Doris) Sproule and Joanne (Sandy) Cunningham. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Claire, an innovative entrepreneur and visionary, leaves behind a legacy of creativity, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Claire, a high school science teacher for many years, made the bold decision to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career as a home builder.
Born with an innate drive for innovation, Claire was always ahead of his time. One fateful evening, while dancing with his beloved wife, Cathy, to the rhythm of “Let’s Get Physical,” inspiration struck, giving birth to the idea of the groundbreaking “Let’s Get Personal” game. Within a year, the game graced store shelves, captivating audiences with its premise of fostering open dialogue and self-expression. Designed to encourage meaningful conversations and deepen connections, the game remains as relevant and impactful today as it was upon its inception.
Never one to rest on his laurels, Claire sought to share his wealth of entrepreneurial wisdom with others. In the subsequent year, he authored and published the book “Norm-busters,” offering invaluable insights into the art of successful entrepreneurship.
But his entrepreneurial journey didn’t end there. Alongside his cherished partner Cathy, embarked on yet another venture, co-founding the beloved footwear haven, C&C Footwear, in Meaford. Together, they brought style, comfort, and quality to countless customers, leaving an indelible mark on the local community.
May his legacy inspire us to pursue our dreams with passion and innovation.
We are at peace knowing he has joined his parents and brother, but he will be incredibly missed by all of us.
