It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of our dearest Colleen who passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the age of 72. Devoted wife to Michael Kasoian, whom she has been lovingly married to for 51 years. Cherished mother to Mark (Jaimi) Kasoian, Kim (Jason) Hammond and Lindy (David Feinberg) Kasoian. Proud grandmother to Michael, Cadence, Ben, Vera and Albert. Dearly missed by her siblings Pamela Swietek and Alan “Bo” (Christine) DeRoches. Always remembered by her extended family and friends across Canada. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Victoria DeRoches (nee Goshgarian) as well as her brother Raymond DeRoches. Colleen was a long-time valued employee of the Halton District School Board and was the welcoming face and voice that everyone had the pleasure of interacting with at the board office. Colleen may be gone from this world; however, she lives on in the stories and memories she has left with all those she touched during her lifetime. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday July 31, 2024 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday August 1, 2024 at 10 a.m. As per Colleen’s wishes, and those of her family, a private cremation will be taking place. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Armenian Community Centre would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
