VAN MAAR: FRED
Fred passed away peacefully on Monday July 1, 2024, at the age of 92, while camping with his wife in their favourite spot at Sauble Beach. Farming was Fred’s passion and woodworking his hobby. From helping his dad when he was young to taking over the family farm. He moved with his wife and 4 children to Canada so his children would have a chance at following in his footsteps. He loved being a sounding board and giving advice when trying something new. He never gave up helping where he could, cutting grass and tedding and raking hay were his favourite things to do right to the end.
Fred was predeceased by his first wife Geessien Jacoba Bakker. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Arlene. He will be dearly missed by his children, Bert & JoAnne Van Maar, Grace Van Maar & Jaap Zigterman, Anton & Karen Van Maar, Martin & Linda Van Maar, Matt & Simone Van Maar, Adrienne Cumming, and Erik & Kait Van Maar. Cherished opa of 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, Jake & Annie, Wes, Gloria, Eliza, Jess & Brice, Mitchell; Vanessa 7 Scott, Porter, Koen; Deb & Derek, Brodie, Cash, Parker, Clark; Dan & Erin, Justan & Vanessa, Harvey, Brayden, Maitlan, Kelsey; Jeremy & Sarah, Lincoln, Evelyn; Tyler & Sam, Greg; Meighan; Trevor; Jack, Hank, Ellie, Jody, Nico; Hailey; Alexis.
Friends will be received at the Clinton Christian Reformed Church, 243 Princess St. E., Clinton, on Friday July 5, 2024 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Clinton Cemetery.
