She is now reunited with her best friend, Ronald Warden of 51 years and loving son Cary. Survived by her daughter Julie and son-in-law Jeremy Waller of Thornton. Forever, proud Grandma to Olivia and Ethan Waller.
She is survived by her sisters Carol Jenkins (Ed) of Caseville MI, and Kathy Cass (Brent) of Guelph. Sister-in-laws Shirley Elliott of Waterloo, Lilian Warden of London and Sharon Tucker of Surrey, BC.
Peggy is predeceased by her parents Garnet and Ilene Lenentine of Ridgetown. She will be remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peggy graduated from Mack Nursing School in 1966 and was a dedicated registered nurse in Burlington Ontario, Cedar Springs Hospital and Chatham General Hospital. She spent most of her nursing career in the nursery, caring for newborns at Chatham General. During retirement, Peggy and her husband Ron enjoyed many happy years at their Lake Wahwashkesh home near Parry Sound and wintering in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 2014, Peggy relocated to Alliston, in Green Briar retirement residence where she was close to immediate family and was an active member in her community. Here in Alliston, Peggy developed a circle of new friends and was an active community member.
In the past couple years, Peggy faced an ALS diagnosis and approached this illness with a courageous and positive attitude.
A very special thanks to Kathy, Brent, Ashleigh, Brennan and their families for their unwavering care and support, home cooked meals, visits and love. Peggy and her family will be forever grateful.
Gratitude and love to friends, Carol Ann and Wayne Balmer, Tim and Janet DeActis, along with endless lifelong Ridgetown friends, and Peggy’s nursing classmates. The family would like to extend their thanks to Peggy’s friendships in Florida and Wahwashkesh, and her supportive friends from Green Briar: Linda, Pat, Sylvia and Dolores.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the ALS Clinic of Sunnybrook and Matthew’s House Hospice of Alliston for their care and support.
As per Peggy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial service will be held at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Peggy to the ALS Society of Canada or Matthews House Hospice in Alliston Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
